Links inside Instagram, TikTok and Facebook

Why these apps stop links from opening other apps, and how DoneLinks gets your visitors out.

Getting started · 1 min read

Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat and similar apps open links in their own small browser. Inside it, a link cannot open your app, and some of these apps also block the stores.

DoneLinks notices these browsers. Visitors on Android are taken straight to Chrome, which opens your app or Google Play as usual. On iPhone they go to the App Store, and when an app blocks that, the page shows a button and the steps for “Open in browser”.

Turn it on or off

  1. Open the link in My Links and go to Other settings.
  2. Use Open the app from Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. It is on by default for every plan.

Each visit is counted once, even when the visitor moves from the app’s browser to Chrome.
